1994
- Strategic Planning – Citizen Enterprise;
- Community Survey, addressing socio-economic conditions, relationships with the company, main needs and interests.
1995 - 1999
Start-up of collective activities:
- Educational lectures for the community and staff;
- Implementation of the Company - Community Integration Project;
- Formal contact with the Duque de Caxias Industrial Association (ASSIMC) and local industries;
- In-house courses and leadership training sessions in the company and the community;
- Implementation of the Junior Apprentice Project;
- Systematization of the Ongoing Education Project in the company, encompassing educational facilities at the Plant, as well as undergraduate and graduate courses.
- Systematization of the Corporate Regulations and Benefits;
- Group Dynamics in order to foster integration among sectors and spur an upsurge in productivity with quality;
- Cooperation with the Community organization and the establishment of the Jardim Amélia Residents' Association (AMJA);
- Systematization of the Neighborhood Newsletter;
- Preparation of educational materials explaining the efforts of the company and broadening a direct channel of communication between the community and the company, seeking community commitments and participation in corporate environmental control activities;
- Encouraging the establishment of soccer classes in the community;
- Organization and oversight of Company – Community integration events, such as the Workers´ Marathon, Women’s Day, Children’s Day, Soccer Championship, June Bonfire Festival and Christmas Party.
2000
- Implementation of the Quality of Life Project
(Partnership: RESITEC / UNIGRANRIO / AMJA / Local CIEP);
- Monthly lectures on a broad variety of topics, encompassing Physical Education, Dentistry, Literature, Physiotherapy and Medicine, to audiences of around 500 people;
- In-house seminar at which the staff presented matters of interest and the results of graduate courses to the internal and external publics, helping exchange knowledge and fostering volunteer actions;
- Organization of a contest with pupils at a local government school (CIEP) to illustrate the Company Christmas Card.
2002 - 2003
- Expansion of the Quality of Life Project, for regular activities as an extension campus of the University for Dentistry, Physiotherapy and Physical Education students;
- Organization of physiotherapy groups with relaxation sessions and referrals as required;
- Organization of Physical Education Groups, assisting ninety people in the community;
- Introduction of work-place gym sessions for the staff;
- Introduction of in-house ergonomics and physiotherapy services;
- Seat on the Social Responsibility Council of the Rio de Janeiro Federation of Industries (FIRJAN);
- Implementation of the Calombé Agora Eu Project / Rio;
- Environmental Education, focused on integrating internal and external actions, in order to alter behavior with regard to the environment and citizenship, with the assistance of SADIA, renovating the video room and painting six classrooms at the local government school (CIEP) in addition to the auditorium;
- Clean-up campaign along the banks of the Calombé River, integrating efforts to heighten awareness with acts of citizenship;
- Mobilization and engagement in the Dengue Fever Prevention Campaign through contact with the Municipal Healthcare Bureau for educational activities at the companies and lectures, visits and handing out T-shirts on Mosquito Combat Day;
- Organization and supervision of lectures by staff members at the government school (CIEP) and in the community;
- Sponsorship of a CD recorded by the Student Choir at the local government school (CIEP);
- Participation in the organization of a show by local singer Beto Gaspary, encouraging new local talents;
- Supervision of the students involved in the Quality of Life Project;
- Implementation of the Small Entrepreneurs Project (Partnership with Brazil’s Social Service for Industry (SESI) and the National Industrial Apprenticeship Service (SENAI), holding a basketwork course in May 2003 for 25 people in the community in order to upgrade their income generation capacities. Other courses were scheduled for implementation during the year.
2004 - 2005
- On-going activities through the Quality of Life Project for the community, increasing the dance classes and the karate group;
- On-going physiotherapy activities, with more assistance to the employees;
- Implementation of the Family at School Project (Partnership between RESITEC and the local government school (CIEP);
- Implementation of the Income Generation / Environment Project through a partnership with the Rio de Janeiro Federation of Industries (FIRJAN);
- Implementation of the dental care project for the families of employees;
- Implementation of the Wages, Salaries and Performance Appraisal Policy.
2006 - 2007
- Continuation of the Quality of Life Project, with the introduction of Saturday sports for boys and girls from the local community in 2007, monitored by the Physical Education team;
- Implementation of the Digit Project, which is designed to bridge the digital divide among young people and adults in the community, coordinated by volunteers from the Nossa Senhora da Glória Community, with monthly newssheets published through this course;
- Introduction of dental care at the local government school (CIEP), refitting the dentistry room with equipment donated by lecturers at the Dental School;
- Implementation of Phase II of the School Community Project: Mobilization for Sustainability, implemented at Jardim Gramacho and coordinated by a partnership between the Eco-Marapendi NGO and companies belonging to the FIRJAN Social Responsibility Center;
- Participation in the Environment Fair / Rio de Janeiro Federation of Industries (FIRJAN);
- Regular work-place gym sessions for employees;
- Organizational climate monitoring through individual interviews and meetings with employees;
- Implementation of the Codes established by the Brazilian Chemical Industries Association (ABIQUIM), through monthly meetings organized with community representatives;
- Monitoring the implementation of the Wages, Salaries and Performance Appraisal Policy.
